Whole food Peanut & Dark Chocolate Squares

This recipe is not only delicious and the perfect treat it’s also free suitable for all the family. It reminds me a little of Reese’s butter cups (amazing) and it’s gluten free, dairy free, vegan & vegetarian friendly, what a bonus! (gluten free, dairy free, vegan & vegetarian friendly)

Ingredients

Base

  • 200 Grams Ground almonds
  • 100 Grams Oats
  • 6 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • 4 Tbsp Maple syrup
  • 1 Pinch of salt

Middle Layer

  • 60 Grams Peanut butter
  • 4 Tbsp Coconut oil melting
  • 4 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 220 Grams Light Tahini

Top Layer

  • 200 Grams Dark Chocolate

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 170∞Celcius & Line a 20-25 inch baking tray with parchment paper

To prepare the Base

  • In your blender blend the almonds and oats until you get a floury consistency
  • Add the coconut oil, sea salt and maple syrup and blend until combined
  • Transfer to the baking tray and press the mixture into tin to form your base
  • Bake the base for 13-15 minutes and leave to cool

To prepare the middle layer

  • To a bowl add your peanut butter, coconut melted oil, maple syrup, light tahini and stir to combine
  • Pour your peanut butter mixture over the base and chill for 1 hour

To prepare the top layer

  • Melt your chocolate until it’s a texture that’s easily spreadable and spread on top using the back of a spoon  and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hou.
  • Cut into even squares and enjoy!
